Wayfare at PUG Challenge Americas 2024: Data Insights and Meaningful Connections in Boston

This year, PUG Challenge America 2024 took place in the historic city of Boston, bringing together Progress OpenEdge professionals from across the continent. Our team at Wayfare was represented by two talented individuals, Claudiu and Nicolas, with Claudiu taking the stage as a speaker. While the event was packed with insightful sessions and networking opportunities, it was Claudiu’s session on data access that made a lasting impact on attendees.

Claudiu’s Session: Understanding Your Data and How to Best Access It

Claudiu presented his session titled “Understanding Your Data and How to Best Access It,” where he shared efficient ways for developers to extract meaningful insights from their data. He demonstrated practical solutions to answer key business questions, such as “How many orders does a customer have on average?” or “How many records will this index return?” By focusing on optimizing data access, Claudiu showed how developers can streamline their work without the need for multiple reports, saving time and improving performance.

His talk resonated with many developers facing similar challenges, and his approachable solutions were well-received. Claudiu’s expertise in database performance and query optimization sparked engaging conversations throughout the event.

Networking and Highlights

Beyond the session, Claudiu and Nicolas had the opportunity to network with other attendees, exchanging ideas on the latest trends in Progress OpenEdge development. The intimate setting of PUG Challenge Americas made it easy to forge meaningful connections, share insights, and learn from others in the industry.

The event provided a great platform to not only discuss technical challenges but also explore potential collaborations and solutions with fellow developers and industry experts.
